Pakistan lists two debutants in playing XI for 1st Australia Test

Pakistan revealed their playing XI, which includes two Test debutants, on the eve of their first Test match against Australia. During Shan Masood’s first Test match as captain, the team has undergone numerous changes, with right-arm pacer Khurram Shahzad and all-rounder Aamir Jamal scheduled to make their Test debuts. In 2022, Jamal made his debut for Pakistan on the international scene against England. He also competed for the Men in Green at the 19th Asian Games. Conversely, Khurram will be playing for his country for the first time in the Perth Test.

In addition to adding two fresh faces, a few players are making a comeback to the mix following a year away from playing with the red ball. Mohammed Rizwan will have to wait for a role behind the stumps as Faheem Ashraf, an experienced wicketkeeper, is set to return to the white jersey, with Sarfaraz Ahmed remaining Pakistan’s first choice.
For a considerable amount of time, the Asian Giants have consistently used the opening lineup. Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique will continue to open for Pakistan after displaying a positive attitude in the just finished ODI World Cup. Former captain Babar Azam will continue to bat at his customary No. 4, and Salman Ali Agha will handle spin duties in Abrar Ahmed’s absence.
