Shalini Passi Reveals Personal Journey: Shaved Her Head Four Times and Donated Rs 10 Crore to Tirupati
November 12, 2024: Delhi-based art collector and philanthropist Shalini Passi, known for her elegance and vibrant presence on social media, recently revealed some surprising personal stories. In a candid conversation, Shalini shared that she has shaved her head not once, but four times as a symbol of devotion and generosity. This act has been tied to her spiritual practice, culminating in her significant donation of Rs 10 crore to the Tirupati temple in 2021.
In an interview with NDTV, Shalini explained that her choice to shave her hair is deeply personal and rooted in her faith. Coming from a Sikh background, she traditionally avoids cutting her hair, often styling it with accessories like hairbands and flowers to maintain her unique look. Her decision to shave her head for the first time in 2013 coincided with a milestone moment when her son, Robin, left for higher studies. She described this choice as a symbol of simplicity and dedication, saying, “I don’t want to style my hair much because ultimately, I will donate it.”
Passi, a prominent figure in the art and design community, has also been vocal about her life as a mother, wife, and homemaker. Married to businessman Sanjay Passi since 2001, Shalini shared her desire for a stable, grounded life partner and her dedication to her family. Describing herself as a “star of her own life,” Shalini has embraced each role with pride, balancing tradition with modern grace.
