Women’s Blind Cricket: India beat Nepal by 7 wickets in 4th T20

Despite captain Binita Pun’s impressive performance at the bat in the fourth Twenty20 match of the inaugural Women’s Bilateral Cricket Series for the Blind 2023, India defeated Nepal by seven wickets on Thursday at Police Gymkhana Cricket Ground. Nepal, put to bat first, scored 165/6 in the 20 overs that were allowed. As India reached the 19th over and began to chase down the target, Sushma Patel, Ravanni, Basanti Hansda, and Simu Das all scored. India won the five-match series 3-1 with this victory; the final game is scheduled for Friday.
Binita Pun, who has scored the most runs in the current series, gave Nepal a tremendous start when she batted first. In the first 12 overs, Mankeshi Chaudhary and Binita put up a 101-run partnership. When Binta (69) left in the fourteenth, Nepal was down to 116/2; however, Srijana Pariyar kept the scoreboard going. Though Nepal lost four batsmen in the final four overs and could only manage 165/6 after a strong start, India stormed back into the match with a burst of wickets.
Sushma Patel and Ravanni finished India’s fifty in six overs while chasing 166. However, Prativa Rai sent Ravanni back to the dugout in the seventh over. India’s pursuit was then sustained by a 66-run partnership between Sushma and Basanti Hansda. India lost Sushma and Basanti Hansda in the 14th and 16th overs, respectively, but it didn’t stop them from chasing; in the 19th over, they reached the target with relative ease.
Player of the Match went to Sushma Patel, who scored 45 runs off of 37 balls. Now, on Friday, India and Nepal will play their fifth Twenty20 match. The series is already won 3-1, so Friday’s Twenty20 match will be a stalemate. India had won the first two Twenty20 international matches, but on Wednesday, Nepal made a comeback to deny India a series victory. With one game remaining, India won the fourth Twenty20 on Thursday to seal the series 3-1.
