Zimbabwe’s itinerary for the tour of Sri Lanka was released on Tuesday. Early in the following year, both sides will play two white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is. According to the ICC, the Zimbabwean team will travel to Sri Lanka on January 3 for the white-ball series. The three-game ODI series between the two teams will begin on January 6. Following the 50-over cricket match, a three-game Twenty20 International series is scheduled to commence on January 14–18.
Zimbabwe will be visiting the island nation on a bilateral basis for the first time since 2022. In their past encounters with the Lions, the visitors have demonstrated both a strong cricketing style and form. In 2017, they triumphed in an incredible 3-2 ODI series while touring Sri Lanka. In contrast, Sri Lanka will try to improve in the next T20 World Cup in 2024 after a dismal ODI World Cup. After a miserable campaign, Sri Lanka finished in second last place at the ODI World Cup, failing to advance to the knockout stages.
There have been issues in Zimbabwe’s camp as well. They missed out on a spot in the T20 World Cup after failing to qualify for the ODI World Cup. RPICS Colombo will host all of the series’ games.
