Unrest in Kyiv-controlled Shchastya and separated region of Luhansk

Following President Vladimir Putin’s declaration of Ukraine’s separatist areas of Donetsk and Luhansk as ‘independent’ countries on Monday, world governments have begun to declare penalties against Russia. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada have been at the forefront of imposing sanctions on Russia.

According to AFP, blasts were heard near Ukraine-controlled Shchastya and the self-proclaimed Republic of Luhansk.

Meanwhile, an Air India flight carrying over 240 Indian people landed late Friday night at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after taking off from Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital.
