Second Aviation Tragedy in a Week After Kazakhstan Crash

December 29, 2024: A devastating plane crash at South Korea’s Muan International Airport claimed the lives of at least 28 people after a Boeing 737-800 aircraft veered off the runway during landing.

The Jeju Air Flight 2216, carrying 181 people, including 175 passengers and 6 crew members, was returning from Thailand when it reportedly experienced landing gear malfunction, believed to be caused by bird strikes.

Second Aviation Tragedy in a Week:

This tragic incident comes just days after an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashed in Kazakhstan, claiming 38 lives.

In that incident, Flight J2-8243 crashed after being unable to land at Grozny Airport in Russia due to Ukrainian drone attacks in the region.

Investigation Underway:

Authorities in South Korea have launched an investigation into the crash, with initial reports suggesting bird strikes as the potential cause of the landing gear failure.

As rescue efforts continue, families of the victims await updates while the aviation community mourns yet another devastating loss.
