Comedians Call Out Musk’s Political Influence as Burr and Chelsea Handler Take Aim at the Billionaire
Washington, DC [US], March 12: Elon Musk has become a divisive figure in Donald Trump’s second presidential term, and comedians like Bill Burr and Chelsea Handler aren’t holding back on their criticism of the Tesla CEO.
In a recent interview on NPR’s Fresh Air, Burr urged Americans to stop turning against each other, arguing that figures like Musk are manipulating public division for their own benefit.
“I’m trying to get regular people to stop yelling at each other and realize that it’s a select few group of nerds eating raw almonds and doing their stupid workouts and competing with each other to have the biggest infinity pool, and the rest of us are getting pushed down,” Burr said. “They’ve politicized the whole stupid thing, and we’re falling for it.”
When asked who he was referring to, Burr didn’t hold back. “That idiot Elon Musk!” he exclaimed.
“He’s Evidently a Nazi”
Burr, who is set to release his Hulu comedy special Drop Dead Years, took things a step further by accusing Musk of making a Nazi-like salute during Trump’s inauguration.
“I just refuse to believe it was an accidental two-time Sieg Heil,” Burr said. “And he does it at a presidential inauguration!”
The comedian also criticized liberals for what he sees as their lack of real resistance against figures like Musk.
“This is why I hate liberals. Liberals have no teeth whatsoever. They just go, ‘Oh my God, can you believe this? I’m getting out of the country!’ I’m just like, you’re gonna leave the country because of one guy with dyed hair plugs and a laminated face? Who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform? Why doesn’t he leave?”
Chelsea Handler Joins the Roast
Burr isn’t the only comedian calling out Musk. During her appearance at SXSW, Chelsea Handler also took shots at the billionaire, questioning his influence.
“Did anyone vote for Elon Musk to be the president? I mean, can’t we come together — Republicans and Democrats — and say we don’t want that? Can’t we agree on that at least?” Handler asked.
When the panel host jokingly suggested she date Musk, Handler had a swift response:
“There’s a lot I would do for the country, but having sex with Elon Musk is not one of them. I can’t.”
As Musk continues to be a controversial figure in politics and media, it’s clear that comedians aren’t afraid to take him on—one punchline at a time.
