On Saturday night, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed Canada’s countermeasures, announcing a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of US goods.

China’s Ministry of Commerce condemned the US for violating international trade rules, stating that it will file a lawsuit against the US with the World Trade Organization (WTO).
“China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes US tariffs imposed on Chinese goods,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.
Mexico Rejects Trump’s “Slander” & Plans Retaliatory Tariffs
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has also announced that Mexico will impose retaliatory tariffs and strongly rejected Trump’s claims that Mexico has ties with criminal organizations.
To address growing trade tensions, Pardo proposed forming a US-Mexico working group to tackle mutual concerns, particularly in public health and security.
“Problems are not resolved by imposing tariffs but by engaging in dialogue,” she stated.
