Drone Crash In Oman Kills Two Amid West Asia Tensions

Iran–Israel conflict intensifies with strikes in Lebanon and missile attacks across the region

March 13, 2026: Two expatriate workers were killed after debris from a downed drone fell in an industrial zone in Sohar province of Oman, according to reports citing the state news agency. The drone reportedly crashed in the Al-Awahi industrial area, killing two foreign workers and injuring several others. During the same incident, another drone was intercepted in the province. Meanwhile, sirens were activated at the Incirlik Air Base near the southeastern city of Adana. The base is a key NATO facility where U.S. troops are stationed.

At the same time, Israel continued military operations in Lebanon, targeting the Al‑Zrariya Bridge over the Litani River. The Israel Defense Forces said the bridge was used by Hezbollah fighters to move between northern and southern Lebanon and prepare attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. Israeli authorities stated that the strike aimed to prevent threats to Israeli civilians while also limiting militant movement.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the 44th phase of its “Operation True Promise 4,” claiming missile strikes on Israeli military positions and U.S. bases across West Asia. The attack reportedly involved Kheibar Shekan missile barrages targeting areas including Tel Aviv, Eilat and parts of the Palestinian territories. The conflict intensified further after the killing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during joint U.S.–Israeli operations earlier this year, triggering retaliatory attacks and raising fears that Iran could close the vital Strait of Hormuz, a move that could disrupt global energy supplies.
