3,900 Kg Adulterated Dairy Seized, Six Arrested

March 19, 2026: In a major crackdown, police in Hyderabad apprehended six people allegedly involved in selling adulterated paneer and other dairy products, seizing nearly 3,900 kg of contaminated items. Acting on a tip-off, the Commissioner’s Task Force, along with officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, conducted a surprise raid at Ganj Bazar near Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad. Authorities found paneer stored in unhygienic conditions, exposed to dust, flies, and other contaminants, making it unsafe for consumption.

During the operation, six wholesale and retail outlets were inspected, leading to the arrest of Jaipal Singh Rajpurohit, Kolariya Vaibhav, Naresh Kolariya, Prem Anil Vyas, Ram Kishore Kolariya, and Laxmi Narayana Kolariya. Investigators revealed that the accused were sourcing adulterated dairy products from unknown suppliers and selling them to hotels, catering services, and customers at ₹280 per kg, falsely presenting them as high-quality paneer.

Officials also found that the products lacked essential details such as brand name, manufacturing date, and expiry information, with no pest control records maintained. A total of 3,892 kg of dairy items—including paneer, kowa, ghee, ajmera kalakand, and white cream—worth ₹11.11 lakh were seized. The accused, along with the confiscated goods, have been handed over to the Mahankali police station for further investigation.
