Gaza Conflict: 64 Palestinians Killed, Over 278 Injured in 24 Hours

Casualty toll in Gaza crosses 62,000 deaths since October 2023, with famine and aid-related tragedies worsening the suffering.

Gaza City [Palestine], August 25: The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to spiral, with at least 64 Palestinians killed and 278 others injured in the last 24 hours due to ongoing Israeli military operations across the enclave. The latest wave of violence adds to the devastating toll of a conflict that has stretched on for months, leaving communities shattered and families mourning.

According to health officials in Gaza, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023, has now climbed to 62,686, while the number of injured has reached a staggering 157,951. The numbers underline the sheer scale of destruction and loss endured by the people of Gaza.

Between March 18, 2025, and August 25, 2025, alone, the region has witnessed 10,842 deaths and 45,910 injuries, reflecting the unrelenting pace of violence.

In a deeply troubling update, hospitals reported that 19 people were killed and 123 injured while attempting to access humanitarian aid supplies in the last 24 hours. This raises the total casualties linked to aid distribution efforts to 2,095 deaths and more than 15,431 injuries. For many in Gaza, the search for food, water, and medicine has become a daily risk to life.

The crisis of hunger and malnutrition is also claiming more lives. Hospitals recorded eight new deaths due to famine and malnutrition, including one child, during the past 24 hours. This brings the grim total of such deaths to 289, among them 115 children.

As the conflict stretches on, Gaza faces not only the horrors of war but also the crippling effects of famine, collapsing healthcare systems, and the relentless struggle for survival. The voices from the ground echo one message—urgent humanitarian intervention is needed before the situation worsens further.
