Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), January 14: The Maha Kumbh 2025 has become a global hub for spiritual seekers, with devotees and seers from across the world converging at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam. Among the prominent international figures gracing the event is Japanese spiritual leader Yogmata Keiko Aikawa, renowned for her extraordinary spiritual practices and deep meditations.
Global Leaders in Spirituality
Yogmata Keiko Aikawa, the only foreign woman Mahamandaleshwar, has captured the world’s attention through her underground Samadhi during previous Kumbh Melas, meditating for four days without food or water. Having spent years in the Himalayas, she represents a bridge between East and West in spiritual traditions.
Expressing her emotions at the Maha Kumbh, she said, “I feel very excited. I bless everyone.” Her contributions to spirituality have also been lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on several occasions.

Sadhvi from Kazakhstan, who first visited India a decade ago, shared her love for the event. “This is a great place, a holy place. Everyone should visit the Maha Kumbh Mela. I will definitely come back here again,” she said.
Her son, attending the Kumbh for the first time, was equally mesmerized. “This is my first time here. It was a very cool event. I came here to honor Mother River Ganga,” he shared.
A Procession of Faith
The morning saw a vibrant procession led by foreign seers and devotees. Spiritual leader Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati encouraged global participation in the Maha Kumbh, emphasizing that faith and devotion are all one needs to experience its grandeur.
She described the holy dip at Sangam as a profound spiritual experience, stating, “It is like taking a dip within one’s inner self.”
Millions Gather for Amrit Snan
Amrit Abhijat, Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary for Urban Development, reported that around 20 million devotees have already participated in the Amrit Snan, with numbers expected to rise.
“So far, about 2 crore people have taken a dip. By evening, more than 2.50 crore people are expected to have participated,” he said.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, celebrated every 12 years, continues to unite people across borders, showcasing the universal appeal of India’s spiritual heritage. With key dates such as Mauni Amavasya (January 29) and Basant Panchami (February 3) approaching, the event promises to welcome even larger crowds.
