Khamenei targets Trump as deaths rise and US issues warning

January 10, 2026: Iran remains largely cut off from global communication networks as nationwide anti government protests intensify. Activists say at least 62 people have died since demonstrations began on December 28 over inflation shortages and currency collapse. The unrest spread rapidly across all provinces after exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi called for mass mobilization.

As protests grew security forces imposed a sweeping internet shutdown and carried out mass detentions with more than 2270 people arrested.
