Strikes reported in Tehran, Lebanon and Iraq as US denies damage to aircraft carrier
March 7, 2026: The conflict between Iran and Israel has entered its eighth day, with the war spreading across several parts of the Middle East. Heavy bombardment was reported in Tehran, where powerful explosions shook multiple areas of the Iranian capital. In response, Iran claimed it launched attacks targeting the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and struck locations linked to American military operations.
Iranian officials also reported an attack near Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, where US troops were reportedly stationed. Meanwhile, the conflict has intensified in Lebanon after Israel launched Operation Roar of the Lion, carrying out large-scale airstrikes on more than 500 locations believed to be associated with Hezbollah. The war’s impact has also been felt in Tel Aviv, where cluster warhead missiles were reportedly seen overhead, triggering emergency alerts and widespread panic among residents.
The regional conflict has also reached Iraq, where a drone strike was reported in Erbil, signalling the widening scope of the war. However, the United States has rejected Iran’s claim that it destroyed the USS Abraham Lincoln. To counter the allegation, the US military released new images of the aircraft carrier, stating that it remains fully operational despite the escalating attacks.
