Iran Launches New Missile Wave

Kheibar Shekan strikes escalate tensions as oil route fears grow

March 10, 2026: The escalating Middle East conflict entered its eleventh day with Iran launching what it described as the 33rd wave of missile attacks against Israel. According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), at least ten advanced Kheibar Shekan missile systems were fired during the latest assault. The missiles, capable of carrying warheads weighing more than one ton, are designed to evade missile defence systems and reportedly have a range of nearly 1,450 kilometres.

Iranian officials described the Kheibar Shekan as a “fortress-breaker” missile that can be prepared for launch within minutes and may deploy cluster-style submunitions capable of causing widespread damage. The IRGC said the strikes targeted Israeli positions and strategic sites linked to the United States in the region as the exchange of attacks between the rival powers continued to intensify.

Amid the growing confrontation, US President Donald Trump warned that any disruption to global oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz would trigger a strong response from Washington. Tehran, however, countered that it could block oil flows if the conflict escalates further. The standoff has unsettled global energy markets, as nearly one-fifth of the world’s crude oil passes through the narrow maritime corridor, even as diplomatic back-channel efforts are reportedly underway to prevent a wider regional war.
