In a major development amid escalating tensions in West Asia, the Israel Defense Forces has claimed that it killed senior Hezbollah leader Na’im Qassem in a targeted strike in Beirut. The operation was part of a broader offensive aimed at dismantling the group’s leadership and military infrastructure across Lebanon.

According to the IDF, the strike also targeted multiple strategic sites linked to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israeli officials described the operation as a coordinated effort to weaken the organisation’s command structure and operational capabilities.

In addition to Qassem, the Israeli military stated that it eliminated Ali Yusuf Kharshi, reportedly a close aide and personal secretary within Hezbollah’s leadership circle. The IDF claimed that these strikes were based on intelligence inputs and were aimed at key figures associated with the group’s activities.

However, Hezbollah has not officially confirmed the death of Na’im Qassem so far, leaving the situation unclear. Independent verification of Israel’s claims is also awaited.
