Bahrain says it intercepted dozens of missiles and drones amid escalating Iran conflict
March 6, 2026: Israeli media reported that one person was injured after shrapnel from a missile interception fell in central Israel amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. Earlier, the Israeli Health Ministry said that more than 1,600 people have been treated in hospitals across the country since the war began on Saturday. Officials confirmed that at least 11 people have lost their lives since hostilities escalated.
The conflict has continued to intensify with repeated missile and drone attacks reported across the region. Authorities in Israel said emergency services and hospitals remain on high alert as the situation develops, with medical teams treating those injured during air defence interceptions and related incidents.
Meanwhile, Bahrain announced that it had intercepted multiple aerial threats during the conflict. In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said it destroyed 78 missiles and 143 drones targeting Bahraini territory, describing them as “treacherous” attacks carried out by Iran.
