Karachi [Pakistan], December 25: Karachi witnessed nearly 9,000 traffic accidents in 2024, resulting in 771 fatalities and injuries to 8,174 individuals, according to a report released by rescue services and cited by ARY News.
The report reveals that, on average, 25 traffic accidents occur daily, leading to 2-3 fatalities every day.
In 2023, Karachi reported over 1,400 deaths and 18,000 injuries from road accidents, with many survivors suffering permanent disabilities.
The recurring pattern of traffic-related fatalities and injuries in Karachi underscores an urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws, improved public awareness campaigns, and better infrastructure planning to enhance road safety across the city.
