Unconfirmed blast adds to tensions as Pakistan reels from Indian precision strikes on terror camps in retaliation for the Pahalgam massacre.

Lahore | May 8, 2025
A loud explosion was heard in Lahore on Thursday morning, according to Pakistan’s Geo TV and a Reuters witness on the ground. The cause of the blast remains unconfirmed, with no official statement issued yet by Pakistani authorities.

The explosion comes just a day after India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, a pre-dawn military operation that targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The air and missile strikes were carried out in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that killed 26 civilians—mostly Hindus.
