Melania Trump threatens to sue Hunter Biden for more than $1 billion, starting a legal fight.
August 14, 2025, in Washington, D.C.: Former First Lady Melania Trump says she will sue Hunter Biden for more than $1 billion, claiming that he made “false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” about her. This might lead to a judicial battle.
The fight started when Biden said in an interview on the YouTube show “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan” earlier this month that “Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania, and that’s how Melania and the first lady and the President met.”
Fox News says that Trump’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, addressed a letter to Biden and his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, on August 6. In it, he gave them a clear ultimatum: take back what they said, apologize in public, and take the footage down from all platforms. Brito said that not following through may lead to a “potential $1 billion defamation lawsuit.”
Brito’s letter says that the film has been “widely disseminated throughout various digital mediums” and has caused “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.” The lawyer also named Michael Wolff, a “serial fabulist,” as the source of Biden’s assertions. He did this by pointing to an article Wolff produced that linked Melania to the Epstein controversy.
The legal battle between the two famous families seems to be getting worse now that there is a danger of a huge lawsuit. The public will have to wait and watch if Hunter Biden follows the rules or goes to court.
