Iran-Israel conflict enters day 16 with fresh missile, drone strikes across region

March 15, 2026: The conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States entered its 16th day as fighting intensified across the Middle East. Iran reportedly launched a missile strike targeting Ben Gurion Airport while drone attacks were also reported against financial infrastructure, including branches of Citibank in Dubai and Bahrain. Meanwhile, the US has reportedly asked some government staff to leave Oman as regional tensions continue to escalate.

Former US president Donald Trump also claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was no longer alive, though Iranian authorities have not confirmed the statement. Heavy bombing was reported in Isfahan, where at least 15 people were killed in recent strikes. In retaliation, Iran launched what it described as the 50th wave of attacks, firing drones and missiles at US and Israeli military positions.

Iranian strikes were also reported against a US military base in Iraq, while a drone attack hit an oil refinery in Erbil. Saudi Arabia said it intercepted several drones over Riyadh. The conflict has also spread to Lebanon, where Hezbollah launched rockets at Israeli military barracks, prompting retaliatory airstrikes by Israeli fighter jets in southern Lebanon, including a strike in the Sharhabil area.
