Omaha Weather Alert: The week starts off very hot, but it will cool
July 28, 2025: Omaha is going to have a very busy start to the week! On Monday, the Omaha weather will be very hot, with temperatures getting close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat index, which takes humidity into account, might even rise to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s very important to follow heat safety rules and check on people who are more likely to get sick from the heat.
On Tuesday, Omaha will get another round of warm weather in the upper 90s with lots of sun. This is because a cold front is moving slowly. Northeast Nebraska might be the only place where an earlier front could bring slightly cooler weather. Even there, the heat index will still be between 105 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The cold front eventually gets here on Tuesday night, and storms start to form to our northwest. These storms are likely to hit our area Tuesday night. They might bring severe weather with strong winds over northeast Nebraska, but they might lessen as they get closer to Omaha.

There could be more storms on Wednesday afternoon, depending on where the cold front is at the time. But a big cool-down is on the way, with highs on Wednesday dipping to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
The week will conclude on an even cooler note, with daily highs in the mid to upper 70s lasting through the weekend with a tiny chance of a thunderstorm or two.
