Washington DC [US], January 14: US President Joe Biden on Monday expressed profound condolences over the loss of 24 lives in the devastating wildfires ravaging Southern California, particularly in Los Angeles.
"Our hearts ache for the 24 innocent souls we have lost in the wildfires across Los Angeles. Jill and I pray for them and their loved ones," President Biden said in a heartfelt statement.

President Biden acknowledged the scale of destruction caused by the fires and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing federal assistance.
“I am being frequently briefed on intensive efforts to suppress the wildfires and have directed our team to respond promptly to requests for additional federal firefighting assistance.
