Amid rampant social media speculation regarding the condition of the imprisoned former Pakistan Prime Minister, the Adiala Jail administration confirmed on Wednesday that Imran Khan has not been transferred out of the facility and is currently in “good health” and receiving medical attention.
November 27, 2025: The administration of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi has moved to quash widespread rumors and speculation concerning the welfare and location of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the prison officials confirmed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman remains incarcerated at the facility and is in good condition.
“There is no truth to reports about his transfer from Adiala jail,” Pakistani news portal Geo quoted prison officials as saying. “He is fully healthy and receiving complete medical attention.”
Wild Claims Sparked by Family Dispute
The need for the jail administration to issue a clarification follows days of intense, unverified claims flooding social media regarding Khan’s health and alleged movements.
This speculation was largely fueled by a controversy last week involving Khan’s family and supporters. His three sisters—Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Dr. Uzma Khan—had publicly demanded an impartial probe into a “brutal” police assault on them and other PTI supporters outside the jail.
The sisters had gathered outside Adiala Jail after allegedly being denied a meeting with their brother for over a month, leading to a tense standoff with law enforcement. The continued denial of access to the former prime minister has amplified the concerns of his supporters, leading to the rampant sharing of unverified information about his condition.
Imran Khan has been held at Adiala Jail since his conviction in the cipher case earlier this year, a period during which his party has protested against the conditions of his detention and the restrictions placed on his access to family and legal counsel.
