The dramatic video shows passengers in panic as an Iberia flight from Madrid to Paris makes an emergency landing after a severe bird strike left its nose cone severely damaged and caused smoke to fill the cabin.

August 6, 2025: On Sunday, an Iberia aircraft to Paris had to make an emergency landing in Madrid after a bird hit caused a lot of damage to the plane’s nose cone. Twenty minutes after takeoff, smoke flooded the cabin, which scared the passengers.

The incident happened after flight IB-579 took off from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. There are scary videos on social media of people on planes carrying breathing masks while scared voices and the sound of a baby crying can be heard in the background. Passenger Giancarlo Sandoval reported that panic started at the back of the plane and spread like a “domino effect” when smoke started to show.

There were no injuries among the passengers or crew, even though the plane was badly damaged and things were very confusing. The plane landed safely, and an investigation is now going on regarding what transpired.
