Dubai [UAE], November 30: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, marked Commemoration Day by honoring the sacrifices of the UAE’s martyrs, who he said will forever remain a source of inspiration and pride in the nation’s history and identity.
In a heartfelt statement, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the sacrifices of the martyrs reflect the highest values of patriotism, honor, dignity, and loyalty, which continue to define the Emirati spirit and heritage. He commended the martyrs’ families for their unwavering commitment to instilling a love for the nation in future generations.
Honoring Sacrifices Across Sectors
Observed annually on November 30, Commemoration Day pays tribute to the armed forces, diplomatic corps, security personnel, civil defense, and healthcare workers, including those who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted their bravery and dedication, describing their contributions as a shining example of resilience and service.
“For the ninth consecutive year, we come together to honor our heroes, who have moved to an eternal abode under the care of the Almighty. They live on, celebrated and dignified, in the annals of our history and the hearts of our people,” he said.
Support for Families of Martyrs
Sheikh Mohammed extended profound respect to the martyrs’ families, calling them a beacon of inspiration for all Emirati families. He praised their courage and noted their vital role in preserving the values and morals that define the UAE.
He also commended the armed forces for fostering a culture of dedication and sacrifice, saying:
“Our armed forces have raised heroes who live, train, and serve side by side—whether on battlefields, at borders, or in safeguarding the sanctity of our lands, waters, and airspace.”
A special tribute was paid to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his personal commitment to supporting the families of martyrs. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the President’s initiatives to ensure their welfare, education, and overall well-being.
