Lucio Diaz, a janitor at a Houston medical office, admitted to urinating in water bottles and contaminating a shared dispenser—leading to multiple women testing positive for STDs.
March 25, 2025: Houston, Texas – In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Lucio Catarino Diaz, a former janitor at a Houston medical facility, has been sentenced to six years in prison for urinating into water bottles used by female employees, an act that resulted in at least one woman contracting herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1).
Court documents reveal that Diaz committed the offenses in mid-2022, targeting a shared water dispenser and personal bottles at a clinic along East Freeway. He later admitted to police that he “did it because he knew [the employee] would drink it” and referenced having a “sickness.”
The case came to light when one of the victims, identified as M.A., noticed a strange smell and taste in her water and began bringing her own sealed bottles. After further suspicion, she set up a hidden camera on her desk—and what it captured was horrifying.

Footage showed Diaz unzipping his pants, inserting his penis into a bottle, and rubbing it around the rim, before calmly replacing the cap and resuming his cleaning duties.
The woman later tested positive for HSV-1, a virus she had never been diagnosed with before. Diaz also tested positive for HSV-1 and chlamydia. Multiple civil suits have now been filed by other women who also tested positive for STDs after drinking from contaminated bottles.
Diaz was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon—in this case, his urine. He had already served two years before sentencing.
In addition to the shocking footage, documents revealed that Diaz showed no remorse during questioning, and behaved as though his actions were part of a routine.
“This case is a terrifying reminder of the lengths to which predators may go, even in places meant to be safe,” said one attorney representing a victim.
