Trudeau’s Exit: Abhishek Singhvi Criticizes ‘Foolish Policies,’ Hopes for Better Indo-Canada Ties

Singhvi Blames Trudeau’s Tenure for Damaging Indo-Canada Relations, Calls for a Fresh Start Under New Leadership

New Delhi, January 7: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Abhishek Singhvi has strongly criticized Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s leadership, labeling his policies as ‘foolish’ and his approach towards radical elements as soft and damaging to bilateral relations.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Singhvi expressed hope that Trudeau’s resignation would pave the way for stronger Indo-Canada ties and mark a shift towards better diplomacy.

“Justin Trudeau’s resignation is a much-needed change for Canada and its global relations. His tenure was marked by foolish policies on the domestic front and a soft stance on radical elements. We hope his exit paves the way for stronger, more respectful Indo-Canada relations,” Singhvi wrote.

🇨🇦 Trudeau Announces Resignation as PM and Liberal Party Leader

Trudeau announced his resignation as leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister, stating he will step down once a new leader is selected. He also confirmed that Parliament will remain prorogued until March 24 to allow for a leadership transition.

“I intend to resign as party leader and Prime Minister after the party chooses its next leader. If I have to fight internal battles, I can’t be a good candidate,” Trudeau said.

The announcement comes after months of parliamentary paralysis and growing dissent within the Liberal Party. Trudeau acknowledged the challenges of internal party conflicts and expressed gratitude to his family for their unwavering support.

“Despite my best efforts, Parliament has been paralyzed. Over the holidays, I reflected deeply and spoke with my family. Last night, I informed my children of my decision,” Trudeau added.
