The waiver allows limited engagement with the port under specific conditions, providing clarity to stakeholders involved in its operations and development.
Officials from both sides are reportedly in discussions to finalise the operational and compliance framework linked to the waiver. These talks are aimed at ensuring that activities at Chabahar remain within the scope permitted by US regulations, while continuing to support regional connectivity and trade objectives.
The extension signals a continued effort to balance strategic cooperation with regulatory oversight. By keeping the waiver in place, the US has reaffirmed its willingness to allow narrowly defined engagement at Chabahar Port, subject to strict adherence to the outlined conditions.
