Washington DC [US], December 19: The United States has imposed sanctions on four entities linked to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, citing their involvement in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and associated delivery systems. The move was announced by State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, highlighting ongoing US concerns over missile proliferation activities.
In a post on X, Miller stated,
“Today, the United States is designating four entities that are contributing to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program. We have been clear and consistent about our concerns, and we will continue to engage constructively with Pakistan on these issues.”
According to a statement from the State Department, the sanctioned entities include:
The sanctions were imposed under Executive Order (E.O.) 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery mechanisms. These entities have been accused of engaging in activities that materially contribute to the proliferation of ballistic missile technology, including development, acquisition, and transportation of related components.
The State Department emphasized its continued vigilance against missile proliferation, with the statement concluding:
“The United States will continue to act against proliferation and associated procurement activities of concern.”
