Trump condemns Tehran as Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei warns of retaliation and Strait of Hormuz disruption
March 13, 2026: The conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran has intensified with sharp rhetoric and fresh military threats across the Middle East. Former U.S. President Donald Trump accused Iran of being a “nation of terror and hate,” claiming the country is now paying a heavy price amid ongoing confrontations. Trump also praised the strength of the U.S. military, saying its capabilities are unmatched and that decisive action is finally being taken after decades of tension with Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s newly elevated Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Ali Khamenei, issued a strong warning to Washington and its allies. In a televised address, he said Iran would not back down until the blood of those killed in the conflict is avenged. Khamenei also warned that Iran could keep the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz closed and continue strikes on American military bases across the Gulf region.
Iran has claimed that U.S. bases in countries including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are being used for attacks against it, which Tehran says justifies its retaliatory missile and drone strikes. With threats escalating and military activity expanding across multiple fronts, the situation in the region remains highly volatile.
