Explosive Media, a pro-Iranian digital group that gained notoriety for using AI-generated, Lego-style animations to satirize global politics, has seen its YouTube channel suspended. The group, which produces content styled after The Lego Movie, announced on April 10 via X (formerly Twitter) that their account was taken down for allegedly violating policies regarding “violent content.”
The suspension comes amidst a digital “war of narratives” between the United States and Iran. Despite a fragile ceasefire in their physical six-week conflict, the online battle remains fierce. Explosive Media’s videos—which frequently feature a Lego-version of Donald Trump in compromising or mocked scenarios—have garnered millions of views. One viral clip depicts Trump looking tense in the Oval Office during the “No King” protests, while others portray Iranian forces overpowering US and Israeli military units through missile strikes and cyber warfare.
While the group maintains it is an independent entity, its content is frequently amplified by official Iranian and Russian channels. In their most recent provocative post, they depicted Trump as a “joker” standing before a mirror. Interestingly, while YouTube has taken a firm stance, the group’s presence remains active on X, TikTok, Telegram, and UpScrolled. Their Instagram account was also briefly disabled last week but has since been restored. To date, the Denmark-based Lego Group has not commented on the unauthorized use of its brand aesthetic in these geopolitical satires.
