Hema Malini Celebrates Modi’s Third Term at Swearing-In Ceremony

Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini arrived in Delhi on Sunday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a historic event that has generated excitement across the city. The renowned actress, dressed in an elegant printed green saree, spoke with ANI before heading to the ceremony. She expressed her elation, stating, “It is a happy moment for all of us that Narendra Modi is going to take oath for the third time as PM. Whatever work is left, we will definitely complete it in the third term.”

Hema Malini’s arrival at the event added to the star-studded gathering, symbolizing the unity and collective spirit of the occasion. She recently secured her position as the representative for the Mathura constituency for the third consecutive term, defeating Congress’ Mukesh Dhangar by a significant margin of 2,93,407 votes. Malini, aged 75, garnered 5,10,064 votes, while her competitors, Congress candidate Dhangar and BSP candidate Suresh Singh, received 2,16,657 and 1,88,417 votes, respectively. She also won the seat in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is set to assume office for his third consecutive term, marking a significant achievement in Indian political history. Alongside Modi, members of his council of ministers will take their oaths this evening. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, surpassing the minimum majority figure of 272 in the 543-strong lower house of the Indian parliament.

PM Modi’s success in winning a third term places him in a distinguished category, making him only the second Indian leader, after founding prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, to achieve this milestone. The city of Delhi has been adorned with posters featuring the PM-designate, creating an atmosphere of celebration and anticipation.

To ensure the smooth flow of the event, around 1,100 traffic police personnel from the Delhi Police have been deployed. An advisory has been issued to the public regarding the traffic movement route arrangements for the delegates attending the ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony has drawn numerous distinguished guests, including leaders and state heads from neighboring regions and the Indian Ocean region, highlighting India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and the importance of fostering strong relationships with neighboring nations.
