Users across India faced a temporary disruption in accessing Google Search on Monday morning, with thousands reporting issues such as blank pages, failed search results, and server error messages.
According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, complaints began rising sharply around 10:23 AM IST, crossing more than 3,300 reports during the peak of the outage. Most users reported problems specifically with Google Search, while others experienced difficulties loading content or accessing the website.
Downdetector data showed that nearly 57 per cent of complaints were related to search functionality. Around 28 per cent of users said content was not loading properly, while 11 per cent reported website-related issues.
Many users attempting to access Google Search encountered an error message stating that an internal server error had occurred and that engineers were working to resolve the issue.
The outage quickly became a trending topic on social media, where users shared screenshots, reactions, and memes about the rare disruption affecting one of the world’s most widely used internet services.
Google had not immediately released an official statement regarding the cause of the outage when the disruption was reported.
