Bonus Payout Drops After Strong Previous Quarter
The March quarter payout marks a decline compared to the December quarter, when employees received the highest variable pay in over three years at about 85%. The latest reduction reflects changes in internal performance-linked compensation structures.
Payout Varies Across Employee Bands
As per internal payout structures, variable pay differed across employee levels and business units. Employees in lower bands reportedly received payouts ranging between 65% and 82%, depending on role and performance category.
AI Pressure and IT Sector Challenges
The IT sector has been under pressure amid growing adoption of AI tools, which has raised concerns about traditional outsourcing and SaaS-based business models. Infosys shares have also seen volatility in recent months due to broader market sentiment.
