Motorola is set to launch the Edge 70 Max in India on July 15, marking the smartphone’s global debut. Positioned as the flagship model in the Edge 70 series, the device is aimed at power users and mobile gamers with premium hardware, advanced AI capabilities and flagship-level features.
The Edge 70 Max will join the company’s existing Edge 70 lineup, which includes the Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70, Edge 70 Pro and Edge 70 Pro+.
Expected Price in India
Motorola has not officially revealed the pricing of the Edge 70 Max. However, industry expectations suggest the smartphone could be priced below Rs 55,000 for the base variant. It is expected to be available exclusively through Flipkart.
Design
The Edge 70 Max adopts a flat-edge design instead of curved sides, offering improved grip and reducing accidental touches. The smartphone features a glass back, an aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front for enhanced durability. It is expected to launch in Glacier Blue, Onyx Black and Sage Green colour options.
Performance
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM. Motorola claims the chipset delivers an AnTuTu score exceeding 3 million.
To ensure sustained performance during gaming and intensive workloads, the device includes the new ActivMesh cooling system with a large 5,000mm² vapour chamber, designed to minimise thermal throttling.
Display
The Motorola Edge 70 Max features what the company claims is the segment’s first Quad HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The screen supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and a peak brightness of 7,000 nits. Motorola also says the display can deliver gameplay at up to 120fps in BGMI.
Battery and Charging
The smartphone packs a 7,100mAh battery with support for 90W TurboPower fast charging. It also introduces magnetic wireless charging, a first for Motorola in this segment, allowing compatible magnetic chargers and accessories to attach directly to the back of the device.
Software and AI Features
The Edge 70 Max will ship with HelloUI based on the latest Android version. The device is also expected to feature a dedicated Moto AI Key, providing quick access to Motorola’s AI-powered assistant, Qira.
Leaked information suggests Qira will support features such as real-time translation, AI-powered search, text summarisation and AI-assisted photo editing, enhancing both productivity and user experience.
Motorola has not yet disclosed the camera specifications, which are expected to be revealed during the official launch event.
With flagship-level performance, a high-resolution display, massive battery, magnetic wireless charging and AI-powered features, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is shaping up to be one of the company’s most feature-rich smartphones of 2026.
