No trading activity in equity and currency markets on March 31 due to Eid; commodity derivatives to resume in evening session.
March 31, 2025: New Delhi – The Indian stock markets are shut today, March 31, in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have suspended all trading activities for the day, including equity and currency segments, as per their official holiday calendars.

The commodity derivatives segment is also closed for the morning session. However, it will resume operations in the evening, from 5:00 PM to 11:30/11:55 PM, depending on the exchange.

Trading across all segments will reopen on Tuesday, April 1.
India is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today following the crescent moon sighting on March 30 in Lucknow, marking the end of Ramadan 2025. Several countries in the Gulf had already celebrated Eid on Sunday, March 30.
