In a deeply distressing turn of events, actress and former nurse Maria Juliana, popularly known as Julie, has leveled shocking allegations against fans of actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay and members of his political outfit, the Thamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Speaking at an emotional press conference, Julie alleged that relentless and vicious online harassment directed at her by TVK supporters caused her extreme mental anguish, ultimately leading to a tragic miscarriage.
The actress has officially approached the Chennai police to seek legal intervention, sparking a massive political and social media storm across Tamil Nadu just weeks after the recent assembly elections and subsequent change of guard in the state.
A Heartbreaking Loss:
“Vijay anna is responsible for me losing my child,” a visibly distraught Julie told reporters. “He might not have done it directly. But if he had said just one word and asked his followers to back off, I wouldn’t have lost what I lost today. Whenever a woman speaks about TVK, her character is assassinated without any conscience.”
Legal Roadblocks Amid Political Shifts
Detailing her pursuit of justice, Julie revealed that she had initially approached the law enforcement authorities earlier this year in March to lodge a formal complaint naming eight specific individuals behind the targeted cyberbullying campaign. However, the legal trajectory took a confusing turn. She recently received an official notice stating that the matter was being treated as a civil defamation issue rather than a criminal offense.
The timeline of the complaint has quickly become a point of contention. Reporters present at the briefing pointed out that when Julie originally filed her complaint in March, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was still governing the state, as the high-stakes assembly elections concluded in April and Vijay assumed office as Chief Minister in May 2026. Julie clarified that while the paperwork began under the previous regime during the hectic election cycle, the current TVK-led administration must now take absolute responsibility for addressing the systemic cyber-violence flourishing under its banner.

According to Julie, the digital harassment drastically intensified following her marriage, with trolls allegedly manufacturing elaborate, malicious narratives to tarnish her public image. She claimed that these coordinated groups went as far as inventing a completely fraudulent “Rs 15 lakh kidney scam” accusation to systematic ruin her reputation and target her husband.
Julie heavily criticized the underlying culture of online fan clubs, pointing out that Vijay’s political ascension was heavily fueled by digital platforms and Instagram. She argued that rather than allowing fan networks to orchestrate vicious digital takedowns against dissenting voices, the leadership should prioritize public welfare, digital safety, and holding toxic elements accountable.
