Akshay Kumar Condemns Pahalgam Attack at ‘Kesari 2’ Screening in Mumbai leads audience in powerful chant against terrorism, expressing collective anger over the recent tragedy.
Mumbai, April 26: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar expressed his strong condemnation of the recent Pahalgam terror attack during a screening of his film Kesari 2 in Mumbai on Saturday. The attack, which occurred on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese citizen.
At the event, Akshay addressed the audience, stating, “Even today, we feel the same anger. All of you know exactly what I am talking about. Today, I want to say the same thing to the terrorists that I said in the film.” He then invited the audience to join him in chanting a powerful line from Kesari 2, leading to a resounding collective expression of defiance.
The screening also served as a platform for Akshay to reflect on the legacy of legendary actor Dilip Kumar. Sharing a vintage photograph of Dilip Kumar blessing his son, Sunny Deol, during the Betab film launch, Akshay reminisced about the late actor’s influence on his family and the film industry.
The Pahalgam attack has prompted significant diplomatic responses, including India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the closure of the Attari Integrated Check Post. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing India’s resolve to combat terrorism.
Akshay’s remarks at the Kesari 2 screening highlight the intersection of cinema and national sentiment, as Bollywood figures continue to use their platforms to address pressing issues and express solidarity with the victims of such tragedies.
