Actor Allu Arjun reportedly did not appear before the Nampally Court in Hyderabad on Monday in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case linked to the premiere of Pushpa 2. According to reports, the actor’s legal team represented him during the hearing, while he has also sought permission from the court to attend proceedings virtually.
The case stems from the tragic incident that occurred on December 4, 2024, during a special screening of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Chikkadpally, Hyderabad. Reports suggest that Allu Arjun’s unexpected arrival at the venue led to a massive crowd gathering outside the theatre, resulting in a stampede.
The unfortunate incident claimed the life of a woman, while her nine-year-old son suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Following the tragedy, police initiated legal proceedings and named Allu Arjun as Accused No. 11 (A11) in the case. The management of Sandhya Theatre has also been booked and listed as Accused Nos. 1 to 10.
Reports indicate that summons were issued to a total of 20 accused individuals, including the actor, directing them to appear before the court for the latest hearing. Earlier, Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with the case but was later granted interim and anticipatory bail.
In the aftermath of the incident, the actor extended financial assistance to the victim’s family. His father, producer Allu Aravind, also announced a donation of Rs 2 crore to support the family affected by the tragedy.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Allu Arjun is currently busy filming director Atlee’s upcoming project Raaka. The actor is also expected to collaborate with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for another highly anticipated venture in the future.
