Television actor Arjun Bijlani has strongly reacted to recent dating rumours involving him and longtime friend Mouni Roy, calling out gossip pages for creating misleading narratives. The speculation began after a video of the two actors stepping out together after dinner went viral, with a paparazzi post suggesting a romantic connection between them.
Addressing the rumours, Arjun criticised the trend of turning genuine friendships into sensational headlines for online engagement. The actor said it was disappointing to see a friendship spanning more than 15 years being misrepresented simply because it generated attention and clicks.
In a statement shared on social media, Arjun wrote that two people who have shared a strong bond for years do not suddenly become a couple because a gossip page needs a headline. He emphasised that friends often support each other during difficult times and that every relationship does not need to be viewed through a romantic lens.

The actor also urged media platforms and gossip pages to verify information before publishing stories that could affect people’s personal lives. He highlighted the importance of responsible reporting and said that sensational content based on assumptions can create unnecessary confusion.
Arjun’s reaction received support from actress Krystle D’Souza, who also criticised the rumours. Responding to the paparazzi post, Krystle questioned the speculation and called out pages for allegedly spreading unverified stories for views.
Arjun and Mouni share a friendship that goes back over 15 years. The duo became popular on television after portraying Ritik and Shivanya in Ekta Kapoor’s hit supernatural drama Naagin in 2015. While their on-screen chemistry won millions of fans, both actors have maintained that their relationship off-screen is based on friendship and mutual support.
The latest rumours emerged shortly after Mouni Roy confirmed her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar. The actress and Suraj announced that they had decided to part ways while requesting privacy and asking people to avoid spreading unverified claims about their personal lives. The couple had tied the knot in Goa on January 27, 2022, in a private ceremony featuring both Bengali and Malayali traditions.
Meanwhile, Mouni Roy continues to focus on her acting career. She was recently seen in projects including The Bhootnii and Salakaar, and is set to appear in upcoming projects such as Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Arjun Bijlani, meanwhile, remains one of television’s most recognised faces, known for his work across popular shows and entertainment formats.
With his latest statement, Arjun has made it clear that he wants the focus to remain on genuine friendships and professional work rather than speculation created around personal relationships.
