A behind-the-scenes photo of the superstar’s dramatic transformation has gone viral as he begins filming the high-stakes war drama based on the 2020 India-China border conflict.
August 22, 2025: Superstar Salman Khan has officially begun filming his much-anticipated war movie, Battle of Galwan, amid the rough terrain of Ladakh. Fans are quite excited about the start of the film’s shoot, especially after a photo of the actor behind the scenes went viral on social media.
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, tweeted the picture on his X account. It depicts Salman Khan from behind, in a battle outfit and getting ready for an action scene. Adarsh praised his arrival by saying, “Superstar #SalmanKhan joins the prestigious #GalwanValley team.” His energy, charisma, and aura will take this patriotic story to a whole new level.
The Battle of Galwan is based on the fight between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. Reports say that Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu in the movie. He was given the Maha Vir Chakra after he died for his courage in the battle. Chitrangda Singh plays a crucial role in the cast, along with other talented actors like Zeyn Shaw and Ankur Bhatia.
The film’s schedule for Ladakh, which was supposed to run from August 22 to September 3, was changed at the last minute. A source told Mid-Day that a planned shoot in Mumbai was put off indefinitely to keep Salman Khan’s “unique look” for the movie. Apoorva Lakhia, the director, is said to have thought it was important to film the action scenes in a row without a month-long break between sites.
Salman Khan has said in the past that the role is very physically demanding and that the high-altitude and cold conditions have made it one of his hardest projects so far. This movie is a big change for the actor, whose last movie, Sikandar, didn’t do well with critics or at the box office.
