The Microsoft co-founder will make a special virtual appearance in the Virani household to raise essential awareness on pregnant women and newborn health. The collaboration is an unprecedented blend of Indian TV drama and global philanthropy.
October 22, 2025: The makers of Ektaa Kapoor’s popular television drama, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, are escalating the show’s star power with a truly unexpected guest: Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates.

Following a highly successful nostalgic crossover featuring Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii‘s beloved characters Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) and Om (Kiran Karmarkar)—which reportedly boosted TRP ratings—the show is set for another major development that will blend mainstream entertainment with global social awareness.
A Special Virtual Appearance for a Social Cause
Bill Gates is slated to make a special virtual appearance in an upcoming storyline, engaging in a video call interaction with the show’s protagonist, Tulsi Virani, played by actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani.
The track, expected to span around two to three episodes, is designed to raise and improve awareness about the health of pregnant women and newborns.
A source close to the production noted that the collaboration came about naturally, as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is actively involved in these causes. The goal is to use the massive platform of the daily soap to promote health and social awareness through compelling storytelling, a mission reportedly championed by Smriti Irani herself.
Nostalgia and New Challenges
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 premiered on Star Plus on July 29 at 10:30 PM, seeing the return of original cast members including Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and Ketki Dave, alongside new additions.
Unlike the original season’s run of over 1,800 episodes, the sequel is confirmed to feature a limited number of episodes. The show is also actively addressing progressive social issues, such as body shaming, ageing challenges faced by women, and men’s issues in its current storylines.
