Bobby Deol has finally addressed the criticism surrounding his brother Sunny Deol’s emotional reaction toward paparazzi during their father Dharmendra’s illness. The actor defended Sunny, explaining that being part of a famous family often brings intense public attention, even during deeply personal and difficult moments.

The controversy began in 2025 when Sunny Deol was seen losing his patience with photographers gathered outside their Mumbai residence while their father Dharmendra was unwell. The veteran actor had returned home after being discharged from the hospital, and the emotional situation led to Sunny expressing frustration toward the media presence outside.

Speaking about the incident, Bobby Deol said that people often focus on capturing moments for social media without understanding the pain a family may be experiencing. He explained that fame does not remove the emotions or struggles people face during personal hardships.

“Just because my family is a famous family, people notice these things. But in any normal town, anywhere, when something goes wrong, people just want a video and put it on Instagram. They don’t see the pain that the person or the family is going through,” Bobby said.

The actor added that such situations are not limited to celebrities and that many families go through similar emotional moments away from the public eye. He said he does not want to repeatedly revisit that incident because it was a difficult period for the entire family.

Bobby also opened up about losing his father Dharmendra, admitting that coping with the loss has been extremely challenging. He shared that losing a parent is a deeply personal experience and everyone deals with grief in their own way.

The actor said that while the pain remains, he continues to feel his father’s presence and believes Dharmendra’s warmth and energy are still around him. Bobby expressed that the memories and values his father left behind continue to guide him.

Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most loved actors, passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89 due to age-related health issues at his Mumbai residence. His passing marked the end of an era for Bollywood and led to an outpouring of tributes from fans and members of the film industry.

Bobby Deol’s comments have once again highlighted the challenges faced by public figures when personal struggles become part of public conversations. His statement has sparked discussions about privacy, empathy, and the pressure faced by celebrity families during emotional moments.
