Despite an earlier release and high expectations, Jaat lags far behind Sikandar, with its global earnings unable to cross the ₹100 crore mark even after its second weekend.
Mumbai, April 21, 2025 –
Sunny Deol’s Jaat continues its underwhelming run at the box office, falling short of expectations and failing to cross the ₹100 crore mark, even globally. In contrast, Salman Khan’s Sikandar achieved the milestone within just eight days of release, making the disparity between the two even more glaring.
By the end of its second Sunday, Jaat had only managed to collect around ₹75 crore net domestically, according to data from Sacnilk. Its worldwide total has also stayed below the ₹100 crore threshold — a disappointing feat for what was touted as a mass entertainer led by the Gadar 2 star.

📉 Jaat vs Sikandar: The Battle So Far
While Sikandar entered the ₹100 crore club on its second Sunday, Jaat, despite releasing earlier, has yet to get close. The film’s sluggish performance has led to mounting concerns about its sustainability at the box office, especially with no major growth seen over the second weekend.
🎬 Did Kesari Chapter 2 Impact Jaat’s Performance?
Speculation suggests that Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 may have cut into Jaat‘s audience, but the numbers tell a more nuanced story. Kesari 2 itself had a modest opening, with just ₹29.62 crore in its first weekend — not enough to significantly dent Jaat’s collections.
More than external competition, the underperformance of Jaat appears to be the result of its own limited appeal. Comparisons to Sunny Deol’s own Gadar 2 — which was a massive box office success — only underscore how far Jaat has fallen short.
🔍 Can Emraan Hashmi’s Ground Zero Be a Surprise Package?
Looking ahead, Emraan Hashmi’s Ground Zero hits theatres this Friday. While it lacks the scale and star power of Sikandar or Jaat, early buzz suggests it could connect with audiences if the storyline strikes the right emotional chords — much like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
Although Ground Zero is not expected to enter the ₹100 crore club, a strong narrative and word-of-mouth could help it carve out its own box office success story.
