Brad Pitt Leads a High-Stakes Survival Story

In Heart of the Beast, Brad Pitt stars as James Belmont, a former Army Special Forces soldier whose life takes a dramatic turn after a small aircraft crashes deep in the remote Alaskan wilderness. Cut off from civilization and facing extreme conditions, Belmont must rely on his instincts, military training, and determination to stay alive.

His only companion is Odin, a retired military German Shepherd who becomes an essential partner in the struggle for survival. Together, they navigate treacherous landscapes, freezing temperatures, raging rivers, and dangerous wildlife while searching for a way back to safety.

The newly released trailer showcases several intense moments, including Belmont and Odin crossing powerful rivers, scaling rocky mountains, and confronting life-threatening challenges in the wild.

One of the trailer’s standout moments features Belmont saying, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” Later, he reassures Odin, saying, “I’m going to get you home. We just have to do this the hard way.”

These scenes emphasize the emotional core of the film, which revolves around the trust and companionship shared between the former soldier and his loyal canine partner.

Alongside Brad Pitt, the film features JK Simmons as Jake, with Anna Lambe appearing in a key supporting role.

The screenplay has been written by Cameron Alexander, while the production team includes Brad Pitt, Olivia Hamilton, and Marty Bowen. Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle serves as one of the executive producers.

Directed by David Ayer, Heart of the Beast is backed by Paramount Pictures and developed in association with Domain Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures. The project marks a reunion between Pitt and Ayer, who previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed World War II drama Fury in 2014.
