The Mumbai Police have officially registered an First Information Report (FIR) against Peter Haag, the husband of Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly. This legal move follows serious allegations of domestic violence and cruelty. According to police officials, the case is filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically targeting charges of cruelty, intimidation, and sustained harassment.

Because the authorities believe Haag may attempt to leave the country or avoid questioning, they have issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him. This measure ensures that he cannot fly out of India while the investigation remains active.

Claims of Financial Damages and Abuse

Celina Jaitly first moved the court against the businessman in November 2025. She is seeking damages totaling ₹50 crores, citing a significant loss of earnings and career visibility due to the alleged abuse. Furthermore, her legal complaint includes requests for compensation regarding:

  • Misappropriation of funds.
  • Unauthorized removal of property.
  • Monthly maintenance for herself and her children.

The case is being treated with high priority under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Currently, neither Peter Haag nor his legal team has released a public statement regarding these accusations.

A Cryptic Message of Resilience

Late Friday night, Celina shared a poignant post on her Instagram stories that many believe refers to her current situation. She posted a photo from a book titled “Breaking Up With a Narcissist.” The actress highlighted passages about reclaiming one’s identity and voice after escaping a toxic relationship.

One specific line read, “You are not who they said you were.” This public update suggests she is focused on her healing process while the legal battle unfolds in Mumbai.

Ongoing Proceedings

The Mumbai Police are continuing to gather evidence and record statements from relevant witnesses. Since the couple has been married since 2010, the investigation covers a significant timeline of their relationship. For now, the authorities are focused on ensuring full cooperation from the respondent to resolve the serious charges of domestic disharmony.
