Chand Mera Dil witnessed a noticeable slowdown at the box office on its first Monday as weekday collections dropped sharply after a decent opening weekend. Starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya, the romantic drama collected approximately ₹2.25 crore net in India on Day 4.
Monday Collections Drop Nearly 47 Per Cent
According to trade estimates, the film saw a major decline of around 47 per cent compared to its Sunday performance. After earning ₹4.25 crore net on Sunday, the film’s collections dipped significantly on Monday as weekday occupancy slowed across theatres.
Despite the drop, the movie has managed to maintain a steady overall theatrical run so far.
Total India Collection Crosses ₹13 Crore
Produced by Dharma Productions, the film opened with around ₹3 crore on Friday before witnessing gradual growth over the weekend.
Saturday collections improved to ₹3.75 crore, followed by Sunday’s strongest performance of ₹4.25 crore. With Monday’s earnings included, the film’s total India net collection now stands at approximately ₹13.25 crore, while the India gross collection has reached nearly ₹15.76 crore.
Overseas Earnings Push Worldwide Collection Higher
The film also continued its overseas run, earning around ₹0.25 crore internationally on Day 4. Its overseas gross collection has now reached approximately ₹2.25 crore.
Combined with domestic earnings, the worldwide gross collection of Chand Mera Dil currently stands at nearly ₹18 crore.
Film Faces Pressure To Stay Stable During Weekdays
Industry estimates suggest the film has been produced on a budget of around ₹30-40 crore, although the makers have not officially confirmed the figure.
Trade analysts believe the coming weekdays will be crucial for the film’s long-term theatrical performance. Sustaining collections through the week could help improve its box office prospects and overall recovery.
Mixed Audience Response Impacts Momentum
While the romantic drama received largely positive reviews from critics after release, audience reactions have remained mixed. Industry observers believe this may have contributed to the sharp Monday decline in collections.
The film revolves around an emotional love story and has attracted attention for the chemistry between Ananya Panday and Lakshya, along with its music and visual presentation.
No Major Bollywood Competition This Week
One positive factor working in favour of the film is the absence of any major Bollywood release this Friday. The relatively open release window may allow the movie to maintain screen count and continue attracting audiences over the next few days.
Trade experts believe stable weekday collections and positive word-of-mouth could still help the film improve its overall theatrical performance.
