One of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year, Cocktail review movie, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has finally arrived in theatres. While audience reactions are still pouring in, noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh has already given the romantic drama a glowing review, awarding it four out of five stars and calling it a complete entertainer with strong box-office potential.

Taking to social media, Adarsh described Cocktail 2 as a love triangle that breaks away from conventional storytelling. According to him, the film’s greatest strength lies in its unpredictability, keeping viewers engaged with unexpected twists and emotional turns. He praised the film’s captivating writing, stunning visuals, memorable music, and solid performances, stating that it more than lives up to the high expectations surrounding its release.

Directed by Homi Adajania, who also helmed the original Cocktail in 2012, the sequel reportedly carves out its own identity rather than relying on nostalgia. Adarsh noted that the filmmaker successfully captures the complexities of modern relationships while maintaining the emotional depth and charm that made the first film a fan favourite.

The reviewer also highlighted the film’s breathtaking visuals, particularly in the first half, which unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of Sicily, Italy. The vibrant cinematography, energetic soundtrack, strong chemistry between the lead actors, and well-executed twists add richness to the narrative. While the second half intensifies the emotional drama, Adarsh mentioned that the film experiences a brief dip in momentum before delivering a satisfying climax.

Among the performances, Kriti Sanon emerged as the biggest standout. Adarsh called it the finest performance of her career, praising her emotional depth and screen presence. Shahid Kapoor was also applauded for being in top form, delivering a compelling performance that anchors the story. Rashmika Mandanna, meanwhile, was appreciated for her sincere portrayal, though Adarsh felt her character deserved more screen time and development.

Music composer Pritam received special praise for crafting a soundtrack that elevates the film’s romantic appeal. Adarsh described the music as one of the film’s strongest assets, highlighting the track Mashooqa as a standout chartbuster. The songs, combined with the film’s visual appeal and emotional storytelling, contribute significantly to its overall impact.

With strong performances, engaging storytelling, beautiful locations, and memorable music, Cocktail 2 appears to have struck the right balance between romance, drama, and entertainment. If early reviews are any indication, the film could emerge as one of the biggest romantic successes of the year.
