At the grand inauguration of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, all eyes were on Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone as she made a graceful entrance. But it was a spontaneous and heartfelt gesture by Mira Rajput, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, that truly won hearts.
As Deepika adjusted her traditional ensemble, Mira stepped in to assist, gently fixing and pinning Deepika’s dupatta to ensure it stayed in place. The moment, captured on video and now widely circulating on social media, ended with the two women sharing a warm hug, symbolizing grace, solidarity, and genuine affection.

The event was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called WAVES 2025 a “historic moment” for India’s cultural and creative industries. Themed “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” the summit aims to position India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation.
Running from May 1 to May 4, WAVES 2025 is India’s first-of-its-kind international event focused on the audio-visual and entertainment sectors. It is hosting over 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300 companies, and 350 startups, spanning sectors such as film, OTT, AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), AI, and broadcasting.
While the summit highlights India’s booming media and entertainment industry, it was this brief but beautiful exchange between Deepika and Mira that added a personal, heartwarming touch to an otherwise formal affair—reminding everyone that behind the glam and glitz, kindness always shines brightest.
